This Market Engagement exercise introduces the London Borough of Tower Hamlets’ (LBTH) Mayor’s Accelerated Housing Programme (MAHP), one of the largest and most ambitious housing delivery programmes in the UK. Taking a portfolio-based approach, the MAHP has been established to accelerate the delivery of high-quality affordable and family-sized homes across 42 Council-owned sites over the next five plus years. By taking a programmatic approach, the MAHP moves away from a more traditional, piecemeal, site-by-site and sequential approach to housing development, by moving ahead at scale and with pace. The overall programme currently comprises 42 housing development sites with the potential to deliver in excess of 3,300 homes, including a portfolio level 51% affordable housing overall.
