About BidWriter
What is BidWriter?
BidWriter is an AI-powered bid writing and management platform built specifically for UK public sector procurement teams. It combines bid pipeline tracking, AI-assisted tender writing, framework and DPS management, and a bid library into a single cloud-based workspace. It is developed and operated by eSourcing Data Ltd, the company behind WinAContract — the UK's free public sector contract search platform.
How does BidWriter use AI for bid writing?
BidWriter uses large language model AI to draft responses to tender questions based on your organisation's bid library, previous winning responses, and the specific requirements of each opportunity — including word limits, marks allocation, and evaluation criteria. The AI generates structured draft answers that your team reviews and refines, significantly reducing the time taken to produce a submission-ready bid.
Which UK procurement frameworks does BidWriter support?
BidWriter supports all major UK public sector procurement frameworks including G-Cloud, Digital Outcomes and Specialists (DOS/DDAT), Crown Commercial Service (CCS) frameworks, Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS), and opportunities published on Find a Tender Service and Contracts Finder.
Is BidWriter suitable for small businesses bidding for government contracts?
Yes. BidWriter offers a permanent free plan with 3 AI credits per month and paid plans from £49/month, making it accessible to sole traders and SMEs. The platform helps smaller organisations compete more effectively against larger suppliers by streamlining bid writing and ensuring compliance with procurement requirements.
Does BidWriter integrate with Find a Tender or Contracts Finder?
BidWriter connects to WinAContract's procurement intelligence data, which aggregates opportunities from Find a Tender Service, Contracts Finder, Public Contracts Scotland, Sell2Wales, and eTendersNI. You can find and import relevant opportunities directly into your pipeline without manually searching multiple sources.
Pricing
How much does BidWriter cost?

Paid plans are Starter £49/month (30 credits, 1 user), Professional £149/month (150 credits, 5 users), Business £349/month (400 credits, 10 users), and Enterprise from £999/month (unlimited credits and users). Is BidWriter genuinely free to start?
Yes. The Free plan requires only an email and password — no card details, no time limit, and no automatic conversion to paid. It includes 3 AI credits per month, the full bid library, pipeline tracking, and integrated tender discovery via WinAContract.
Is there an annual discount?
Yes — annual billing saves 20% across all paid plans. Starter at £470/year (vs £588 billed monthly), Professional at £1,430/year, Business at £3,350/year.
Can I add more team members to a paid plan?
Yes. Every paid plan from Starter upwards supports additional seats at £18/user/month with no minimum. Add or remove seats at any time from your team settings.
Can I cancel my BidWriter subscription?
Yes — there's no minimum term and no cancellation fee. Downgrade to the Free plan at any time from your billing settings. Your bid library and historical bids stay accessible.
Does the price include tender discovery?
Yes. Every BidWriter plan includes integrated tender discovery from WinAContract, aggregating opportunities from all UK procurement portals. Standalone tender alert services typically cost £200–£500/month separately; BidWriter bundles both.
Features & AI credits
How are AI credits used?
One AI credit covers one AI-generated draft of a tender question or response section. A typical small bid uses 5–10 credits end-to-end; a larger 20-question MEAT-evaluated bid uses 15–25. Smaller AI actions — critique, polish, evidence suggestions, bid/no-bid AI — each use 1 credit. Credits reset each billing month and do not roll over.
What happens if I exceed my AI credit limit?
You can continue working manually using your bid library, pipeline, and evaluator — only AI drafting pauses. Credits reset at the start of the next billing month, or you can upgrade to a higher tier at any time without losing data.
Can multiple team members collaborate on bids in BidWriter?
Yes. BidWriter supports multi-user collaboration with role-based access. Administrators can assign individual tender questions to specific team members, track progress across all questions in real time, and manage deadlines centrally. Team seats are available from Starter upwards at £18/seat/month.
How does BidWriter help with bid/no-bid decisions?
BidWriter includes a Bid/No Bid scoring tool that evaluates each opportunity against configurable criteria including strategic fit, win probability, resource requirements, and contract value. The AI Bid/No Bid Advisor (Professional+) provides a data-led recommendation based on your historical win rate and similar past bids.
How does BidWriter track government framework expiry dates?
BidWriter's Framework Manager lets you add and monitor all your active framework agreements and DPS registrations, including expiry dates and renewal windows. The platform sends automatic alerts ahead of expiry so you never miss a re-qualification deadline.
Security & Data
Is BidWriter GDPR compliant?
Yes. BidWriter is built and hosted in the UK, with all data stored in UK data centres. The platform is GDPR compliant, and eSourcing Data Ltd operates under UK data protection law.
Can other organisations see my bids or bid library?
No. Your bid pipeline, bid library content, past responses, and all AI-generated drafts are completely private to your organisation. Data is isolated per account and is never shared with other users or used to train shared AI models.
Is BidWriter suitable for bids involving commercially sensitive or confidential information?
Yes. All content you upload or generate in BidWriter is stored privately within your organisation's account on UK-hosted infrastructure. It is not shared with any third party and is not used in AI training. We recommend reviewing any specific data-handling requirements in your organisation's procurement policy before use.
