Wirral Council is undertaking early market engagement to help shape the future design of our health and wellbeing services for ethnic communities across Wirral. Public Health aim to engage service providers who can deliver initiatives that improve health and wellbeing outcomes for ethnic minority communities across Wirral. These communities experience a range of daily challenges and barriers that increase widening health inequalities. This Pre-Market Engagement (PMQ) exercise forms part of the Council's commissioning process and will support informed, strategic decision-making in advance of the re-procurement for both the Migrant Wellbeing Project and the Ethnic Minority Health Improvement and Inequalities Programme, which are due to expire in March 2027. Subject Matter Wirral's ethnic population includes people not born in the UK who have arrived here through a variety of immigration routes including asylum seekers and refugees, as well as economic migrants and visa holders. Many individuals from minority ethnic backgrounds experience stigma, discrimination and racism.
