Proposed Works The proposed project includes the full refurbishment of Start Point lighthouse (A3718) stands above Tobacco Rock, 59°16.638'N 002°22.577'W, on the tidal island of Start Point at the Eastern extremity of Sanday. The works shall comprise of the following: 1.Carry out a full Asbestos Refurbishment / Demolition Survey on all NLB operational buildings prior to the commencement of any work. 2.The Principal Contractor is expected to test the existing 'HCL' fall arrest system and re-certify it if necessary, before use. The Principal Contractor is to provide the Project Leader with all relevant test certification for record and audit purposes. 3.Deliver all plant/materials/camp to NLB Oban packaged for helicopter underslinging 4.Land plant/materials/camp on site and establish site. 5.Removal of the diesel engine, tank and obsolete aluminium lattice tower 6.Excavate and form foundations for new wind turbine (third-party installation) 7.Full redecoration of the station buildings 8.Refurbishment of the welfare facilities
