Background The York rivers trail is a public engagement initiative delivered through Ousewem, the City of York Council-led flood resilience programme funded through Defra's Flood and Coastal Innovation Programme. The trail launched in July 2026 following an extensive programme of stakeholder engagement, educational resource development, public consultation, schools engagement, community arts activity and interpretation installation. The project has established a network of schools, community partners, artists, environmental organisations and cultural organisations and has developed a suite of educational resources under the banner of "The rivers and us." City of York Council is seeking a supplier to deliver the next phase of activity, focused on embedding, expanding and sustaining the York rivers trail during the remainder of the Ousewem programme
