Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council invited tenders for the provision of a highly responsive Wrap Around Service, and now intends to award multiple contracts to a number of suppliers covering the geographical areas within the borough. The Council, in partnership with health colleagues, is committed to providing a short-term Wrap Around Service to people who require urgent care in their own home. This service is designed to support individuals to remain independent and avoid unnecessary entry into the formal care system. This is not a standard domiciliary care contract. The service requires providers to deliver care workers to people’s homes within one hour of contact, 24/7, including for extended periods (e.g., day or night sits of up to 12 hours at a time). The aim is to promote a Home First ethos, prevent community crisis, and enable assessment of needs for up to 72 hours. Experience in being able to deal with situations where individuals present with challenging behaviour is a requirement of this contract. Key Requirements • Rapid Response: Providers must demonstrate the ability to deploy care workers within one hour of referral, at any time of day or night, including weekends
