Swanwick Lodge is a secure children's home. The children in care living at the home are extremely vulnerable some of whom have challenging behaviour. The work involved includes laying areas of concrete in the secure courtyard to prevent children from digging out stones and using them to damage glass / windows. There are two areas of concern not exceeding 2m square. Additionally, there are a number of doors that have dropped due to hinge wear and require either lifting (preferred if possible) or easing. Installation of new hinges is being addressed with the door supplier but are on a long lead time and the dropped doors are damaging carpets. It should be noted that the doors are steel lined and extremely heavy - circa 200 kilos.
