The Beams function is to secure the relevant safety critical materials to the bogie frames or axle whilst providing the necessary insulation to electrically isolate the traction current from the rest of the wheelset and bogie structure. Without Shoe Gears or Beams the rolling stock is unable to move. Spend is not committed and the consumables will be procured according to requirement.
