How to win: RM6409 Buying Better Food and Drink 2

About this contract

This will be a replacement agreement to follow RM6279 Buying Better Food and Drink framework, which expires on 22/01/2028. Of the £4.9bn, total Public Sector food spend, the Government Commercial Agency (GCA) has a market share <0.3%. The procurement is planned as a single supplier framework (as per the current RM6279 agreement), where the opportunity for SMEs is a key benefit of the operational model, as buyers and the Tier 1 supplier can add SMEs to the supply chain for direct delivery supplies to customers at any time, via the Buyer Unique Line terms. The framework is designed to reduce barriers for SMEs to access public sector contracts to supply food and drink. The framework will be suitable for all Public Sector buyers including central government organisations, devolved administrations and wider public sector organisations in the United Kingdom.

How to win contracts like this

• ✓Answer against the marking scheme, not the question text — Government Commercial Agency scores each response, so map your evidence to the published criteria and weightings.
• ✓At £800,000,000, expect quality and social value to carry a large share of the score — price alone rarely wins goods work.
• ✓Show recent, comparable delivery: name similar goods contracts you've delivered for public bodies, with measurable outcomes.
• ✓Start early: deadlines are tight and a strong bid takes iteration.

BidWriter drafts your responses from your company profile, scores them against the marking scheme, and tracks your whole pipeline. Free to start — no card needed.
