About this contract

In 2017, Transport for London (TfL) awarded a framework agreement for the delivery of Rapid Electric Vehicle Charge Points (EVCPs). Between 2018 and 2021, approximately 300 50kW rapid chargers were installed across TfL, borough, and private land sites. Of these, 142 EVCPs were delivered on TfL highways and land, comprising a mix of taxi-dedicated and publicly accessible EVCPs. TfL was responsible for the enabling works (such as site design, power connections, and civil engineering) to prepare locations for EVCP installation. The supply, installation, operation, and maintenance of the EVCPs is carried out by the charge point operators appointed under the framework agreement. To ensure continuity of service, TfL plans to tender the ongoing operation and maintenance of the rapid EVCPs at these sites.
