The Council is issuing this PME in relation to the future procurement of Swimming Pools and swimming lessons for the teaching of School Swimming across Derbyshire. The Council is seeking expressions of interest from facility providers who have the capacity and expertise to both host and deliver a programme of School Swimming. The Council is seeking facilities with a large enough capacity to accommodate up to 35 pupils and equipped to deliver the programme to KS1/KS2 and Send pupils. Facilities must be close to population centres within each district and have sufficient access to allow for large coaches to drop-off and pick up safely. Swimming Teachers/ Instructional staff qualified to level 2 must be provided in the following districts- South Derbyshire, Derbyshire Dales, High Peak and Bolsover. The Council has developed its own bespoke Curriculum and award scheme which supports the aims of the National Curriculum, and it is expected that this curriculum is strictly adhered to across the county.
