The Trust is procuring a compliant and reliable point-of-use (POU) water filtration solution to reduce the risk of waterborne pathogens in high-risk clinical environments, supporting its patient safety and water management strategy in line with HTM 04-01 and BS 8580-2:2022. The project focuses on the supply of 0.2 μm absolute-rated filters for taps and showers to prevent pathogens such as Legionella pneumophila and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, with use in critical areas including NICU, oncology, transplant, and intensive care units. The supplier must ensure consistent availability and rapid delivery of filters as needed. An initial order of approximately 1,000 units is expected, with an estimated annual demand of 12,000 filters, though volumes are indicative and may vary. Shortlisted suppliers will also be required to participate in a mandatory on-site product demonstration.
