Perth and Kinross Council intend to issue a contract opportunity for Child Disability Support Services. The nature of the work would require the Supplier to be registered with the Care Inspectorate. The service will provide access to short breaks and practical caring support (including personal care to children/young people) for parent carers and children/young people in their homes and communities. Children and young people with disabilities will have better access to the support they need to meaningfully participate in their communities, to be included and to have opportunities to enjoy their childhoods/play and achieve their life potential. Support will be trauma informed and promote the rights of children and young people with disabilities. The aim of the service is to place children, young people, and parent carers at the centre of planning and directing their own support in line with their identified needs. The service will strengthen family wellbeing by ensuring that parent carers have the support they need at the earliest opportunity.
