North Northamptonshire Council (here after referred to as 'the Council) are looking to procure a principal contractor to undertake a range of refurbishment works required at a Public Health dementia facility. As the centre is dated and in need of modernisation, the Council have engaged with a specialist architect to develop the design and reconfiguration with a focus on a dementia friendly environment. The key areas of focus include improving overall layout, including accessibility and areas of movement whilst applying dementia-friendly design principles. Other upgrades include reconfiguration works, modernising the utilities, improving lighting and installing safety features such as non-slip flooring and additional handrails. The Council are undertaking this procurement on behalf of Public Health, the University of Northampton and the Autumn Centre. The Council is utilising an electronic tendering tool to manage this procurement process.
