How to win: Net Zero Consultant for Jersey Airport, Channel Islands

About this contract

We wish to appoint a single specialist consultant to deliver the services summarised below: • Establish a proportionate energy and carbon baseline and confirm the residual Scope 1 and 2 emissions gap, including the long-term route away from HVO. • Assess energy efficiency and building performance opportunities across HVAC, controls, BMS, lighting, motors, pumps, fabric and operational optimisation. • Develop a practical vehicle electrification strategy and associated charging and infrastructure plan for the operational fleet. • Assess technically and commercially viable on-site renewable energy generation (with a particular focus on solar PV), storage and demand management across the estate. • Produce a prioritised, costed investment roadmap to 2030 and beyond, including planned maintenance. • Transfer knowledge, tools and models so PoJ’s internal teams can maintain and build on the roadmap after the commission ends

How to win contracts like this

• ✓Answer against the marking scheme, not the question text — Ports of Jersey scores each response, so map your evidence to the published criteria and weightings.
• ✓At £10,000, expect quality and social value to carry a large share of the score — price alone rarely wins services work.
• ✓Show recent, comparable delivery: name similar services contracts you've delivered for public bodies, with measurable outcomes.
• ✓Start early: it closes 8 October 2026 and a strong bid takes iteration.

BidWriter drafts your responses from your company profile, scores them against the marking scheme, and tracks your whole pipeline. Free to start — no card needed.
