How to win: LGA Graduate Programmes Assessment Centre Exercises and Design 2026

About this contract

As part of the LGA’s three graduate programmes, the Impact: The Local Government Graduate Programme, Impact: Finance, and Pathways to Planning, the LGA wishes to receive bids from individuals, organisations or sole traders to create materials for our assessment centres for each of the three programmes. The successful supplier will develop exercises and mark schemes aligned to each programme’s competency framework. This will include initial design, piloting with an appropriate sample group, analysis of outcomes and refinement of the materials as required, with the explicit aim of ensuring the assessment is robust, accessible and minimises adverse impact.

How to win contracts like this

• ✓Answer against the marking scheme, not the question text — Improvement and Development Agency for Local Government (IDeA) scores each response, so map your evidence to the published criteria and weightings.
• ✓At £125,000, expect quality and social value to carry a large share of the score — price alone rarely wins services work.
• ✓Show recent, comparable delivery: name similar services contracts you've delivered for public bodies, with measurable outcomes.
• ✓Start early: it closes 24 August 2026 and a strong bid takes iteration.

BidWriter drafts your responses from your company profile, scores them against the marking scheme, and tracks your whole pipeline. Free to start — no card needed.
