Flintshire County Council (The Authority) are looking to engage with the market in relation to cost effective, compliant and quality Material Treatment, Collection, Recycling, Recovery, and Disposal services. The Authority currently has a number of contracts in place for a range of waste treatment streams from a total of 5 Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC’s), all of which are approaching their end date at various different points in the next 1-2 years, FCC are including reviewing opportunities to rationalise certain services currently delivered under separate contracts, where appropriate, in order to achieve best value for money, whilst ensuring that the Authority retains full control and oversight of recyclable materials, including specification requirements, material flows, and the required treatment, recovery, or disposal outcomes The Authority is looking to gain a better understanding of suppliers in the market and if they are able to manage either collection, handling, treatment, and appropriate recovery or disposal of multiple waste streams arising from the Authority’s operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental and regulatory requirements.
