Leicestershire County Council (the Council) has a directly employed workforce that undertakes highway maintenance works, including: • pothole repairs and/or minor carriageway and footway repairs • repair and/or installation of kerb, edging or channel • repair and/or installation of highway drainage • repair and/or installation of gully grates, manhole covers and other ironwork types • repair and/or installation of brickwork • repair and/or installation of highway fencing • repair and/or installation of cable ducting and associated structures • other minor civils works as necessary Depending on the Council's commitments and/or budget, the Council may require additional resources (operatives, vehicles and equipment) to support its directly employed workforce to undertake the highway maintenance works. The Council is looking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced organisations to an NEC4 Framework Contract (the Contract). Organisations appointed to the Contract must be able to supply suitably trained and experienced highway maintenance operatives with vehicles and equipment to supplement the Council's directly employed workforce, on an ad-hoc basis.
