How to win: Direct Payment Payroll and Banking Service

About this contract

Direct Payments are funding provided to people by local authorities to support them with arranging and paying for their social care needs. An assessment of the person's social care needs is made to decide if they are eligible and what funding is required. The funding is paid directly to the Individual, their nominated representative, their authorised representative, or a third-party holding account, so that they can organise and manage their own support provision.

How to win contracts like this

• ✓Answer against the marking scheme, not the question text — Somerset Council scores each response, so map your evidence to the published criteria and weightings.
• ✓At £1,600,000, expect quality and social value to carry a large share of the score — price alone rarely wins services work.
• ✓Show recent, comparable delivery: name similar services contracts you've delivered for public bodies, with measurable outcomes.
• ✓Start early: it closes 20 October 2026 and a strong bid takes iteration.

BidWriter drafts your responses from your company profile, scores them against the marking scheme, and tracks your whole pipeline. Free to start — no card needed.
