How to win: Conservation Architect

About this contract

The Conservation Architect will provide three primary strands of work for the Royal Parks: -condition surveys of the Royal Parks’ listed assets, including recommendations for maintenance and remedial works; -ad hoc conservation advice for urgent works that might arise due to damage, vandalism, etc.; and -acting as conservation architect through all RIBA work stages to a range of projects on both listed and non-listed heritage assets.

How to win contracts like this

• ✓Answer against the marking scheme, not the question text — Conservation Architect scores each response, so map your evidence to the published criteria and weightings.
• ✓At £3,500,000, expect quality and social value to carry a large share of the score — price alone rarely wins services work.
• ✓Show recent, comparable delivery: name similar services contracts you've delivered for public bodies, with measurable outcomes.
• ✓Start early: deadlines are tight and a strong bid takes iteration.
