About this contract

Of the General Needs flat blocks tested in 2025, 59 parent installations have been identified as needing a rewire due to their age and condition. Some of the installations serve more than one block. There are 103 blocks served by the 59 parent installations. The Council intends to enter into a Contract with the preferred Tenderer (the “Service Provider”) on a 9-month contract term.

How to win contracts like this

• ✓Answer against the marking scheme, not the question text — Ipswich Borough Council scores each response, so map your evidence to the published criteria and weightings.
• ✓At £900,000, expect quality and social value to carry a large share of the score — price alone rarely wins works work.
• ✓Show recent, comparable delivery: name similar works contracts you've delivered for public bodies, with measurable outcomes.
• ✓Start early: it closes 10 August 2026 and a strong bid takes iteration.
