The Breastfeeding Peer Support Service aims to increase the prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding at 6-8 weeks. The service will meet the requirements of the Best Start Healthy Baby programme and the recommendations of NICE guidance on breastfeeding support. The service will deliver support to families antenatally, provide on-ward contacts and home visits as well as follow up calls. Drop-in and appointment clinics in community buildings across the borough will also be available for families. The service will aim to be delivered by local women as peer supporters and will offer training and development opportunities for residents. This Notice is for informational purposes only and is not a formal invitation to tender. Its aim is to enhance transparency and competition for the upcoming tender notice.
