Bolsover Back Hills Steps & Rail Repairs. Bolsover Back Hills Nature Walk is situated on the embankment of the Hill side that runs parallel with High Street, Bolsover S44 6HF and is immediately accessed by "Surprise View" that is located at the top of Cotton Street. The steps are approximately 15 years old, while some repairs have been carried out over the last few years due to the continued deterioration, it is now deemed that repairs would be so invasive that complete replacement with more permanent materials would be the way forward to increase longevity. Some of the handrails have been stolen and been replaced in the past and a similar repair would be acceptable to repair. The steps are now almost washed or rotten away deeming them unsafe and it is the intention to replace the existing treads and risers that are constructed out of timber & road stone (concrete screed) be replaced with either cast concrete steps in situe or concrete units to form treads and risers for the new steps.
