How to win: ABEN Manchester

About this contract

A Bed Every Night (ABEN) is a Greater Manchester wide programme providing accommodation and support for people who are sleeping rough or who are at immediate risk of rough sleeping. Manchester is required to deliver at least 168 units of accommodation with support in the city as part of the ABEN programme. We intend to test the provider market and reprocure ABEN services in Manchester to put new contracts in place for the financial years 2027/28 and 2028/28, with new 2-year contracts commencing in April 2027.

How to win contracts like this

• ✓Answer against the marking scheme, not the question text — Manchester City Council scores each response, so map your evidence to the published criteria and weightings.
• ✓At £8,762,552, expect quality and social value to carry a large share of the score — price alone rarely wins services work.
• ✓Show recent, comparable delivery: name similar services contracts you've delivered for public bodies, with measurable outcomes.
• ✓Start early: deadlines are tight and a strong bid takes iteration.

BidWriter drafts your responses from your company profile, scores them against the marking scheme, and tracks your whole pipeline. Free to start — no card needed.
